The Fort Massachusetts replica was eventually turned into a restaurant in the late 1940’s as the museum was failing to attract the tourists that the Historical Society anticipated. The Fort Massachusetts restaurant was successful for a short period of time before also failing to bring in enough tourists and closing in the 1950’s.
